“St Teresa’s College, Abergowrie acknowledges the Traditional Custodians of Country throughout Australia. We pay our respects to Elders past, present and future.”

The Gowrie Boys return in 2013, bigger and better than ever before.

This is the forth song from The Gowrie Boys. The song was written, recorded and filmed as part of a four-day mentoring and development program with the young men at St Teresa’s College, Abergowrie, in North Queensland.

From their humble beginnings singing about the unique setting of Abergowrie — which has “no phone reception” the Gowrie Boys have toured throughout Queensland and have been recognised with the National Indigenous Hip Hop Awards and Deadly Awards — as well as being the most viewed video from the Desert Pea Media series.

The aim of the program is to expose students to the music industry and in doing so, provide the students with a forum to share and be proud of their culture.

The College is a Catholic all boys secondary boarding school and is part of the Catholic Diocese of Townsville. Students at the College come from over 40 different remote and rural communities and collectively speak over 60 different languages and/or dialects.

This year, the creative team consisted of:
